Most PC games these days don't require a disc Kevin. Of course that's because they have bullshit DRM that forces you to phone home to the servers, but still...You don't need a disc in the drive to play Spore, Red Alert 3 etc...

Most PC games? Nutman I have and play PC games, you're talking about EA games. Most PC games still require you to have a disc in the drive. I know this because I have a USB CD drive and there are times when a game won't work on it and it requires me to plug in an alternate drive for it to work. Disc Checks are still around my man.

Well EA and Valve games don't require a disc, but I guess you're right - It's not most. I also read that Sims 3 will require a disc in the drive. It has the same copy protection as 2.
I wish more companies would follow Blizzard's example. If you own any Blizzard game you can just punch the serial key into your account on the Blizzard store and you now own a digital copy AND a physical copy. You can also download it as many times as you want.

btw this was the best show yet with the new format. The differing opinions were great, Donn was funny, and Kevin making fun of Larry is ALWAYS awesome.

The only thing that concerns me about digital downloads, is what happens to them in the future? Technically, we aren't buying any games on Xbox Live, we are just paying for the rights to play. So 20 years from now am I going to have to buy Mega Man 9 again? Am I spending my money on something I can't actually keep? It feels miss-leading to me. I wouldn't know that I wasn't actually buying the games if I didn't listen to podcasts. How is a regular Xbox customer supposed to know?
