I heard this question on the latest show and I thought it would be funny to hear everyone's stories of getting vehemently pissed from playing a game.
I have countless stories actually, a lot of them as a kid, but one really massive one when from about a year ago. My dad had an old Commodore 64 monitor that I would use to play PSone on, and one time I was playing Spyro the Dragon and I guess the cable I had was bad or something, because the image kept flickering and going out on me, so I grabbed the monitor and began punching it repeatedly with my fist (I was about 8-years-old at the time) and then I grabbed the entire monitor and began shaking it and I shook it so hard that I pushed it through the drywall and left a huge hole in it. Immediately I gasped and felt the adrenaline rushing through my body, because I knew that I was FUCKED. I repositioned the monitor to cover the hole and I did my best to fit the drywall back into place. But later when my parents came home, they saw it and grounded me from playing any games for a week. That was the only time I was ever actually grounded.
What about all of you?
In the Star Fox Adventures game (Forgot what system), where it was basically an explorative RPG but with Star Fox, there was some point where you had to spam A to out push a guy into a hole to be accepted into a tribe to complete a quest.
Well, I tried and tried, and eventually got so mad I started slamming the controller into the ground in frustration. Then, it being 5AM, my dad was up and was going to work. He saw me and got mad at me for trying to break the controller. Then my dad tried and failed, but he had to go, so he did.
So I calmed myself and tried again. And again. And again. Eventually my frustration built back up and I started trying to break things again. Well, my dad came back for whatever, and found me. This time he didn't get mad. He just sat down, took the controller, and beat the guy. Then he told me he loved me and went to work.
So yeah. That was my "worst" frustration moment. Never had anything similar since, except when playing Call of Duty. I hate campers. So much.
Don't know why. I think it had something to do with how my dad handled it when he tried the second time. Dunno.
I am new to playing MMOs. So I didn't quite get how intense they can get, I play in front of my TV on a laptop. At a siege I got killed literally 15 times by higher level players. I got so irritated I picked up my mouse and just threw it. The mouse just missed my new tv and hit the wall and exploded. It was a decent Razer mouse as well, so now only get crappy ones.
