Permalink Reply by Kevin J Baird on December 20, 2012 at 12:06pm We're expecting our first real snow tonight. The high is still 50. January is basically the snow machine here. But our "averages" never dip below freezing. That, of course, isn't to say we don't get those days, it's just short and one-off. Last year we only had three real snows, and one melted the next day. I only broke out the snow blower twice.
The problem with Cleveland is that the Lake is typically warmer than the air. So this produces grey clouds that linger over the city for months. It's not unusual to go weeks without seeing the sun. This starts to suck the life out of you by the time April comes and it's just raining every day. Seriously depressing.
That said, if Global Warming keeps up, we should be like San Diego before too long.
