What to do with an extra laptop?

As of now I have 5 laptops, and I currently use 4 of them. One is the living room laptop that my girlfriend and I use.One of the laptops is older with a Celeron chip in it and the build in monitor works when it wants to. However it's fast enough to run iTunes and I use it to share music to my iPad. One laptop is mine and I use it for occasional gaming, but mostly to edit photos, videos and word processing. Some thoughts on The New Super Mario Bros. 2 3DS...

Well, I've played through the New Super Mario. Bros. 2 and I have to say, it's a bit disappointing. The main problem I have with the game is the focus on coin collecting. There are coins and ways to collect coins everywhere. In the other Super Mario games collecting coins to earn extra lives was satisfying. In this game, I had collected so many coins, that by the time I had finished the game, I had over 70 lives.The other problem with the coin focus is the game itself is far too easy. You can…See More

My thoughts on the 3DS XL so far...

I bought a 3DS XL he other day and I thought I'd give a quick review of it so far.The first thing I noticed about the 3DS XL is it size. It's much bigger than the 3DS. It great for someone like me with big hands and thick glasses. It feels very comfortable in my hands. The top screen is bright and vibrant. What great game did you not discover until years after it was released?

For me it's Killzone on the PS2. I bought it last week for $5 after I purchased a clearance PS2 slim at K Mart for $25.I didn't know how good this game was. I started playing it and played through it in a few days. The PS2 graphics are great as well. Not having the processing power of the PS3 this game uses lots of grays, shadows and fog to hide the distances. It really does fell like I'm playing it a shitty, dystopian future.Anyway, what games have you discovered well after their release date?See More

My biggest fear is that I will someday be totally alone. I have no siblings and odd are my parents will die before me. 

I have my girlfriend of nearly 11 years, but I worry that she could die first. I know it's stupid to think this way, but all of her aunts and uncles have died and they all died in their late 50s early 60s. Her mother, in her early 60s is failing fast and her dad is very old for his age.

About a year or so ago I started playing my PS3 a bit more and my 360 much less. As it is now, I don't game on my consoles too often and when I do it seems to be on the PS3.

Most of my gaming has been on the Vita. I have five games for it and I seem to enjoy playing on that more than my big systems, Unit 13, Resistance and Uncharted are great. Cancer Update for 05/20/2013

  On Friday when I wrote the last update, she was very much out of it and I didn't think she'd make it to Saturday.  However, by Saturday morning she was a bit more alert.  She knew who I was and responded when I said, "Good Morning" by repeating that and saying, "Kevin" as well.  So that is a good sign in terms of where she should be mentally and where she actually is.Things are confusing because she has "any minute death" symptoms like muscle wasting (Her arms and legs are loose skin and…See More

Cancer Update for 05/18/2013

  We're at the end of the line.  She's not expected to make it past the weekend at this rate.  Her decline from semi-alert but confused, to completely out of it was rapid.   She can still eat and drink but no longer has any conversation and does not really know much else about what is happening. Raspberry Pi

I bought a Raspberry Pi today.  Primarily to use it as the mining computer for my ASIC rigs.  I had a temptation to get a netbook and use that, since the interface would be more open ended running Windows and everything.  But the Raspberry Pi is "neat" and it only runs on 1.5watts to 3watts.  Which is ridiculous.  In order to get maximum ROI the wattage needs to be low.  Hopefully doesn't turn into a nightmare to get up and working.  Though there are many straight forward examples.  I'm not new…See More

Cancer Update for 05/08/2013

  So, after coming home from work on Tuesday, Mom was laying flat resting and they had installed the catheter.  While this relieved a lot of the stomach pain she was having (Most pain, unless she moved around and then got shots of back pain.) she appeared very much lethargic and tired.Since then, she's been unable to eat and drink on her own.  I have to give her one pill at a time, and feed her, but she doesn't eat much.  I believe this is because she has to concentrate to swallow, and that is…See More
