Cancer Update 03/01/2013
So I went over to visit Mom yesterday. She wasn't feeling too well. She's lost most of the vision in her right eye. She asked the nurse for stronger pain medication. They gave her Ibuprofen 400mg pills for free. Which I was like, "This is hardly any better than what you have now." but my Mom was happy since she didn't have to pay for them.
I have some Percocet and Vicodin that I can always give her if she starts having real problems and the Nurse doesn't help. I don't have an endless supply, but if she needs to sleep, I can give her something. Not right now though, just saying, I don't want her screaming in the night.
Saturday I move in with her. This is going to be really interesting for me. I intend to continue updating the blog here as things progress.

On Friday when I wrote the last update, she was very much out of it and I didn't think she'd make it to Saturday. However, by Saturday morning she was a bit more alert. We're at the end of the line. She's not expected to make it past the weekend at this rate. Her decline from semi-alert but confused, to completely out of it was rapid. She can still eat and drink but no longer has any conversation and does not really know much else about what is happening. I bought a Raspberry Pi today. Primarily to use it as the mining computer for my ASIC rigs. I had a temptation to get a netbook and use that, since the interface would be more open ended running Windows and everything. But the Raspberry Pi is "neat" and it only runs on 1.5watts to 3watts. So, after coming home from work on Tuesday, Mom was laying flat resting and they had installed the catheter. While this relieved a lot of the stomach pain she was having (Most pain, unless she moved around and then got shots of back pain.) she appeared very much lethargic and tired.Since then, she's been unable to eat and drink on her own. Well, this weekend I changed my first diaper. Except instead of a little baby, I have a 150 pound woman who is in pain as I try to move her around. She didn't eat almost anything the last twenty four hours. She complains of stomach pain, however I'm almost certain this is because she is not going pee.
